-Performers looking directly at the viewer, direct addressing
-Men- singing directly to the audience
-Women- object of an erotic gaze, object of male desire

Narrative-
-Often tell a story
-Mini film
-Can promote a film (has clips from a film)
-Fast pace, lots of shots
-Mimic other film/tv genre
-Sometimes artist is part of the story

Thematic-
-Lots of common themes
-Eg- Rap - street images
      - Dance- many female performers

Symbolic-
-Many symbols to build up meaning
