Audience feedback from questionnaire

'How old are you?'- we asked this question so that we could get an idea of the age group this genre is aimed at. This would help us later, when we are creating our own music video, digipak and advert in this genre. We discovered that are main target audience is 15-17 years old, so our package will appeal to them.

'What is your gender?'- this question was used so that we could target the gender that are more likely to watch the indie/ alternative genre.

'What is your occupation?'- this links with the question on age, we asked this to give us extra help when recognising our target audience.

'What is your favourite band within the indie/ alternative genre?'- asking the audience their favourite band gave us an idea of the type of band the audience likes. From this we can use ideas so that our band will appeal to a wide audience base.

'What gender would you expect an indie band to be?'- we asked this question so that we could produce a stereotypical indie/ alternative band. As the audience expected to see boys we can now give the audience what they expect from this package.

'What colour scheme would you associate with an indie music video?'- we asked this as we think that the visual colours are a key aspect of a genre. From this we can get ideas about what colour schemes the audience expects to see, so that we can comply with the genre.

'What type of music video would you expect an indie/alternative to have?'- we asked tis so we could produce a music video that the audience wants to see and what will reinforce the stereotypes of the indie/ alternative band. As most expected to see both narrative and performance, we know we need to combine the two types together to create a music video that the audience wants.

'Do you expect the lyrics to match the visuals in the music video?'- this was a question we asked so that we could create a music video that wouldn't  match the music video, as this was the preferred result from the audience and what they expected.

'How would you expect the band to look?'- we wanted to know the
expected look of the band so that we could dress and style the band appropriate in the genre.

'What would you prefer to see in the CD pack?'- we wanted to know some ideas of what can go in our digipak, so we thought we would ask the audience what they wanted or expected to see in the digipak.

'Roughly, how often do you buy CD's?'- we wanted to know this as we know that CD's are going out of fashion, but we wanted to know if our CD would still be bought.

'Do you enjoy watching music videos and why/ why not?'- we wanted to know what makes a music video appealing so we were able to use these ideas and we know what to do and what not to do.

'How often do you watch music videos?'- how often people watch music videos is important as we want to encourage more people to watch them. making our video appealing to many people is key element to do this.

'How long would you expect the music video to last?'- we wanted to know this so that we know how long our music video should be, as we don't want the audience to loose interest part way through the music video.

'Would you prefer to see the band in the music video?'- we asked this so we know whether the audience wants to see the band in the music video, from this we know whether to feature them or not.

'What information would you like to gain form the CD advert?'- we asked this so we know what information to feature in the advert. we are now able to provide the information that the audience wants to know so there is no wasted information.
